The History of Craig’s VW
Craig’s VW has been in business for nearly 50 years, and operated most of those years in a small, modest, but functional space. Founded in 1972 in Burlington, Vermont as Johns VW, John Page operated out of a small barn in downtown Burlington, and was the original mechanic for Ben and Jerry’s VW delivery vans. He operated his business as a shop for friends, a VW co-op of sorts. Craig Reeves, after professional dealership training in early VW fuel injection, joined John not long after. Craig had operated as a VW road service previously. Together they were known throughout the state as the go to shop if you had a bus or beetle. Noah Crowther bought into the business in 2001, and was mentored by Craig, and John before buying the shop and property currently operated in Colchester, VT in 2011. Quickly the business grew, the space became smaller, the Vanagons higher, and the ceilings lower.
In 2022 renovations began to update the facility, equipment, and abilities to better serve the Volkswagen community. This year we're off to a great start with a fully renovated shop, and state of the art equipment. We’re welcoming 16’ ceilings with new LED lighting, two brand new 10,000 lb lifts with height extension adapters, new electrical service, the ability to now mount and balance tires, new equipment, and tools, and an amazing staff unlike any other. The updated space not only enhances efficiency, but also provides a professional and welcoming environment for customers. With top tier tools, and a well designed workspace, we’re set to deliver high quality service, and bring restorations to the next level. It’s a very exciting time.
