As the days grow longer, and the air turns a bit warmer, Vermonters, and us here at the VW shop feel the excitement of spring arriving. For a long time now, we have welcomed this season with open arms, knowing it brings not just sunshine and fresh air, but the return of busy days, and old friends. 

Historically, winter has been a challenging time for this shop. When the shop first began, it was nothing more than a outbuilding barn with no heat and no running water. The cold months were challenging, and keeping the business alive took sheer grit, and passion. In those years, we wore layers, worked with cold fingers, waited for the phone to ring, and washed our hands in snow. For real. It was all done for the love of being self employed doing something we could be proud of. 

Over the decades, we've grown, adapted, and improved. The winters became more bearable, and the business started doing better through the "off season"". The recent building renovation and latest updates to the shop have made it so we can enjoy a warm, well lit space where work continues comfortable even in the coldest months. There's still nothing like opening the doors in spring, and feeling the the fresh air enter. 

Spring brings a welcome change, and a shift in the rythym of work. We welcome back from Forida the founder of this shop John. Spring for us has always been synonymous with his return. An exciting time of year always. The old classics come out of storage, and the shop sometimes becomes a bit of an old barbershop with people hanging out, and telling stories. It's the best. 

This year we've focused on longer term restorations, with complete overhauls of the beloved clasics, so while we contiunue with that throughout the year, the feeling of spring arriving will still always be the best time of year here at the VW shop. 50 years is a long time to do anything, but the love we have for these cars, our customers, and this shop has never faded. Love is real.
